Kerry-Ann White re-elected as President for St Catherine High Alumni Association

AGM 2022 Highlights

The Annual General Meeting of the St. Catherine High School Alumni Association was held on Sunday, May 29, 2022, in Paschal Hall, with the election of a new executive being the main feature. The elected Executive members to serve for 2022 - 2024 are:

President – Kerry-Ann White (Class of 1991)
First Vice President – Shelly McLaughlin (Class of 1987)
Second Vice President – Nigel Walker (Class of 1991)
Treasurer – Patreena Cunningham  (Class of 2005)
Secretary – Stacy-Ann O’Meally  (Class of 1999)
Assistant Secretary/Treasurer – Rhonda Allen  (Class of 2003)
Public Relations Officer – Denise Dennis  (Class of 2006)

Earlier in the meeting, alumna Ms Sharon Dale,JP, Chairman of the St Catherine High School Board of Governors, brought greetings from the board.  As a past Alumni President herself she expressed how proud she was and lauded the hard work of the Alumni Association both local and overseas. She expressed gratitude to the outgoing executive team and encouraged the incoming team to work equally hard.

Greetings also were delivered by alumnus Rev Robert McHugh, JP, President of the school’s Parents Teachers Association.  He shared that the current executive team of the PTA are history-makers, being possibly the only PTA executive in Jamaica to be an all-alumni team. Rev McHugh also shared how proud they all are as past students who chose to send their children back to the school that nurtured them.

A highlight of the meeting was the address by Guest Speaker, Mrs Elaine Walker Brown, JP, President of the St Catherine Football Association. She brought well wishes to The Association and shared plans for football at the parish and national levels for both boys and girls. She congratulated the school on its successes in football, and had high praises for the work of the management team. The meeting was also treated to stirring and entertaining musical performances by members of the school band, which was recently adjudged Jamaica’s Best High School Band. 

Principal Mr. Marlon Campbell, who was Presiding Officer for the elections, thanked the outgoing executive for their selfless service, and encouraged the incoming leaders to continue on the work done by the previous executive. Outgoing President Kerry-Ann was re-elected as President for a second term. The new executive team was elected en bloc as they were unopposed; their election was sanctioned by the members present.

President Kerry-Ann White extended an invitation to persons interested in serving The Association. She stressed the need for increased support to bolster our efforts, especially leading into next year’s 75th Anniversary celebrations.

The meeting ended with the singing of our beloved school song, “Dear St. Catherine High We Love You”.
